Initial Meeting

The initial contact to the parish should be to the priest, deacon or marriage coordinator, to set an appointment to meet at least six months before the ceremony. 

Wedding dates should not be confirmed until the first conversation. Couples are advise to complete a parish bride & groom profile before the first meeting.

The initial meeting is a time to share joy, and ask/answer questions on the marriage preparation process. Some of the topics include:

• Explaination of the Prepare-Enrich "Relationship Inventory" 
• Introduction to the "Witness to Love"  preparation process
• Invitation to identify a Mentor Couple that are married at least a few years;  active in the life of  the Catholic Church; and a couple the engaged looks up to. 
• Completion of "Freedom to Marry" forms
