Order of Christian Initiation for adults

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a gradual process of conversion and initiation into the Catholic Christian community providing individuals the space to encounter God and respond to His invitation to a new way of life in the Catholic faith. 

OCIA (formerly RCIA) is fully intended to be:

• a gradual unfolding of the mysteries of the faith, punctuated by moments of grace;
• an organic and systematic presentation of the faith;
• a liturgical, pastoral, and catechetical experience;
•  intimately involving the parish community; and
• deeply kerygmatic (proclamation of the Gospel) and Christocentric (Christ at the center).

The OCIA is for making disciples. Every parish in the archdiocese offers this spiritual formation journey for those seeking to become Catholic or further their Catholic faith.
