In summary:
CCHD is committed to supporting groups of low-income individuals as they work to break the cycle of poverty and improve their communities. By helping the poor to participate in the decisions and actions that affect their lives, CCHD empowers them to move beyond poverty.
All organizations that are interested in applying for a National CCHD Community Development grant or an Economic Development grant and who are not currently receiving a national grant for the same project are required to submit a Pre-Application to the National CCHD Office. The Pre-Application and instructions for completion and submission can be accessed through the Community Development and Economic Development Grants criteria pages. Pre-Applications are accepted between September 1st and November 1st. Organizations are strongly encouraged to submit their pre-application prior to the November 1st deadline.
Current grantees eligible to be considered for another year of funding (also known as "refund applicants") are not required to submit a pre-application. During the week of November 22, refund applicants will receive an e-mail from CCHD that contains instructions and a link to access the online interim report form and refund application. The full application due date for eligible refund grantees is December 17th, 11:59 p.m. (EST). Late and incomplete submittals will not be accepted. Please note that this deadline is two weeks earlier than the deadline for new applicants.
CCHD requires that Community Development initiatives take a three-year break in funding after receiving six years of support in the last nine years. CCHD's Economic Development Grants Program maintains a three-year eligibility limit. CCHD will grant a maximum of three years support for an Economic Development Initiative (EDI). These years need not be sequential.
For more on EDI's, refer to the Economic Development Grant pages and the CCHD Application Help Guide.
