“Often it is better to simply slow down and put aside our eagerness in order to see and listen to others, to stop rushing from one thing to another and to remain with someone who has faltered along the way.” ~ Pope Francis
Accompaniment is how parishes can encourage parishioners to spiritually support others, especially those who are struggling. It is when parishes mentor their flock to genuinely be present with others, listening to them and supporting them with the goal of helping them hear God's call for them. We are like a bridge of support, connecting others to Jesus Christ.
We walk in front in order to guide the community, in the middle in order to encourage and support, and at the back so that no one lags too far behind.
